My first trip to Germany in 2015 is already done, and here are the new issues for January from Deutsche Post.
Baby Animals
These 2 stamps are from the Baby Animals series: red squirrels (left, Sciurus vulgaris) and wildcats (right, Felis silvestris).
The rate for a standard letter in Germany went up this year from 60 cents (Euro) to 62 cents, the same 2-cent increase as last year.
Palaces and Castles
These 2 stamps are from the Palaces and Castles series: Ludwigslust Palace (left) near Hamburg in the north of Germany, completed in 1776, and the Marksburg (right) in the west of Germany, built around the year 1117 and surviving intact for nearly 900 years and counting.
Wild Germany
This stamp is from the Wild Germany series, featuring part of the bodden region (saltwater lagoons) along the Baltic Sea coastline in northeast Germany.
Good job, Tom. I’m partial to the small animals – you can’t beat a cuddly kitten, the squirrels might tear you up though.
