Here is another historical stamp on cover from Brazil: 400 years since the naval force of Jerónimo de Albuquerque.
In this case, the historical details are not very clear to me. I think this Wikipedia article (in Portuguese) describes the person in question: Jerónimo de Albuquerque (Maranhão). And I think he was a captain, and his name is recorded in Portuguese-Brazilian history as the soldier who took back the Rio Grande region (Rio Grande do Norte, in modern-day Brazil) from French invaders.
Date: 13th August 2013
The cover carries a nice commemorative cancel, featuring the ship depicted in the stamp.
In the upper-left corner, the cover also carries two stamps (definitives, I think), featuring everyday crafts and occupations, illustrated with designs by Brazilian artist Hector Consani.
Thanks to Marcio for this cover.
